Apple and I have contributed this to one other site. But we thought it'd be helpful for this site, too. We have lovely members on here and nice posters! But sometimes we all need a little creative help. Here are some ideas for posting.
Also for character making we have seen a lot of people unsure of what to do for personality, appearance, and history. Those need to have nice detail in them too. It will help you a lot to better understand who your character is.
Now with all this advice, we hope to see a lot more thought out, well written, and detailed posts.

- First of all, it helps you to get into your character if you add thoughts. Not only does this help you figure out who your character is, it helps others to understand them better.
- The second thing that helps is to ramble. If something is brought up that reminds your character of something, describe it. Take a paragraph or two (maybe more. It depends on what the thing is) to explain why your character reacted to that thing the way that they did.
- It helps for people to know who and what you are responding to, so put previous dialogue in italics.
- Make sure you respond or describe everything that your character sees, as in what they think is going on. It makes things so much funner (not a word, but I don't really care) to read. It expands your character's personality. (this also ties in with adding opinions that your character has about someone/something)

- For Personality think of everything, like how they act in class, around friends, and people they don't like. Also mention things they hate in other people, like something that aggrivates them easily. With that you can mention things that they like in people. Be sure to mention how other people usually react to your character.
- For Appearance don't just describe hair, eye-color, and minor things like height. Go into MAJOR detail. Look closer at the picture you have chosen, or the mental image you have formed, and describe their features like the shape of their eyes, nose, mouth. Maybe describe something wonky on them. - For History, all I can really say is try to make up a story. Now remember, it doesn't have to be tragic but not perfect either. PLEASE use detail. We LOVE detail, and in the long run, you will too. It helps develop your character.
