She did not know why she came back but here she was, sitting alone in the large pub. Men were arguing again, fighting over silly, childish things, to the point where one was harshly knocked to the floor. She nearly covered her ears as loud cheers errupted from the supporters of the winner.
This was not a place for her. But why was she here? She promised herself to never hurt her dearest friend, Lucas Pitchinson, again. But she needed to see the man who held her heart so deeply. She had never been able to move onto anyone else and knew she wouldn't be able to.
She sat a bit impatiently behind a table, eating away at a small bowl of pea soup. She kept her head down, not wanting anyone to approach her as she sat all alone. Rarely did people come in alone, unless they were waiting for someone or looking for someone new to meet. Her eyes slowly scanned the stage, waiting. "Where is he..." she slowly asked herself, wondering whether this was all a mistake.
He wanted to see her again, and she wanted to see him. This time though, she did not want to leave him again, ever. She needed to make sure he knew what to expect if they were to get back together. As she waited, she slowly pulled out a small piece of paper and began writing away, even doodling a few stars onto the page.

Lucas had decided not to play this evening. There was no point, no one listened and if they did they were too drunk or depressed to enjoy it. He sat at the bar, his back to the front door blending in quite well without his guitar. He felt empty without it, but he had to get out for a while and do some guy-thinking.
In all honesty, he didn't expect to see Clover again. Their last meeting had been it: she didn't want to hurt him, yes, he was just sick and tired of waiting and stewing over their mutual indecisiveness, sure.
But when it all boiled down and he was sitting alone in his apartment in his boxers staring at the blank TV, he realized how he deserved something for his good samaritanism.
And he deserved Clover.
It's okay to treat yourself once in a while, he thought now, sipping a beer. He hadn't meant to actually drink drink tonight but the atmosphere was so melancholy what else was there to do?
--------
She sat still at her table. She sighed, resting her head on the palm of her hand. She decided to wait another hour and if there was no sight of him, she'd leave. Slowly getting out of her seat, she went to the bar.
She stood next to Lucas and did not even notice that he was there since he blended in so well with all the other intoxicated men. "Can I have a tea please?" she asked. The bartender laughed a bit, "Tea? This is a bar..."
Clover genuinely smiled, "I know. Just a tea, thank you." The man shrugged and got it prepared for her. She hurriedly returned back to her seat, not looking to talk to anyone except Lucas. She lowered her head quickly when she saw a man across the bar eyeing her. "Crap..." she whispered to herself, having a feeling he was going to approach her. The man was obviously drunk by the way he swayed around.
----
Just as Lucas was feeling especially dismal he heard her. Hell, he saw her practically inches away from him. "Can I have a tea please?"
"Tea? This is a bar..." Lucas stiffened slightly.
Give her the d**n tea, man...
He seemed to hear Lucas for he gave Clover her tea and let her go without further incident. Lucas turned to see her sit down. So she had come back! She did want to come back to him- he stopped that train of thought, telling himself to not get to hopeful. She might have come here to finalize her earlier statement. He bit his lip, weighing his options.
Finally, he slapped down some more money on the counter catching the bartender. "Tell ya guys to give this to that little lady," he said, taking a pen from his pocket and scribbling on a napkin 'Look behind you.' He handed it to the guy who pocketed the money and went over to Clover. Lucas leaned on the counter, waiting.
----
The man nodded and walked to Clover, giving the note to her. Looking up at the man, she stared down at the written piece of paper in her hands. 'Look behind you.' She was about to do what the note instructed her to but suddenly, the man from across the bar slinked into the seat next to her.
"Hey..." he hiccuped, smirking and resting his hand into her lap. Clover's eyes went wide and she hurriedly slapped his hand away, backing away into the seat a bit more. She completely forgot what the note asked her to do and she began to wonder whether or not it was right to be here.
"Come on girly, don't run away from me." the man smirked, inching closer to her. She was near getting up and storming out, forgetting about Lucas.

Who was this clown?
Lucas frowned as the man put his hand in Clover's lap, standing up then. He saw her slap his hand away, feeling his blood boil. He hated this place for this exact reason: nearly every guy here was a pig. He could safely say it, the proof was right in front of him.
He wasn't about to let some drunk guy ruin his future with Clover. He forbid it, actually. Striding over to them, he placed his hand on the man's shoulder. "Is there a problem here," he growled lowly to him, forcing him to turn towards him roughly.
------
The man raised an eyebrow, shaking his head. "No problem at all...Just talking to my 'gal." he slurred, swaying where he sat. He wrapped an arm around Clover, turning back to face her. She gasped when she saw Lucas and shook her head, hoping he didn't believe the man.
He dug his nails into her sides and she winced, biting her lip. She had her hand on her wand, ready to strike the man now. She did not care that it was a public place, she wanted this guy gone. "Piss off!" the man growled at Lucas, waving his hand at him to go away.
-------
"No problem at all...Just talking to my 'gal," the man said drunkenly. Lucas narrowed his eyes, balling his fists and setting his jaw firmly. "Piss off!" He had his arm around her waist.
Lucas could feel himself tensing up angrily. All the confusion of the past few years really was getting to him. Growling lowly, he literally picked the guy up and punched him in the jaw sending him sprawling backwards from Clover.
He stood there, panting and shaking heavily standing by Clover.
---------
Chaos broke as people saw Lucas punch the man. He sharply got up and pulled his shirt off, signifying a fight. Drunk men surrounded Lucas, Clover, and the man into a circle. "Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!" They all cheered together.
"Lucas, let's go." Clover whispered nervously, not liking that she was shoved in this circle as well. The man charged as soon as she finished, tackling and punching at Lucas. When he charged, he shoved Clover down as well, making her yelp as she was shoved to the ground.
--------
Lucas took the punch, quickly avoiding the next one as he advanced. He growled lowly, fighting the man back roughly. He grappled with him for a while before grabbing him by his shoulders and tossing him over a table, sending drinks and food onto the floor.
He panted for a minute, ignoring the pounding of his blood or the roar of the crowd gathered around them before turning his back to help Clover up. "Are ya okay?" He brushed her off, worried the man had hurt her when he had shoved her down.
---------
Clover winced when she got up, having landed on her leg awkwardly. There was a red mark on her cheek where a bruise would most likely form. The man growled and lunged at Lucas sharply, grabbing him by the throat. He threw him down to the ground and went to Clover.
"Come on girlie, let's get going to my place." Clover growled, kicking at the man to make him let go of her. He was drunk and clung to her around her waist, not ready to let her go. "Who is this joker?" he asked, pointing at Lucas. "Your brother?"
