¤ HEIGHT... 5’7”
¤ MEDICAL CONDITIONS... Double Jointed. Allergic to Chicken Feathers.
¤ APPEARANCE... Jessie has shoulder length straight brown hair. It has a tendency of growing past her shoulders before she cuts it back. In the past her hair was kept between very-short and chin length but as she grew older the decided to avoid the pixie cut. Jessie usually wears her hair down out of habit but has been known to put it in a pony tail when she runs. She is moderately skinny because she runs a lot and doesn’t feel the need to eat all that much. She is healthy, but happens to be on the skinny side. She has light green eyes. Her fashion sense has evolved quite a bit and Jessie tries to look more like an adult lately. She still wears some t-shirts but more fitting and put together looking ones. She also likes blouses, tank-tops, and slacks. She only really wears jeans if she is at home relaxing, and skirts or casual dresses also appeal to her anytime. Jessie is about medium height for a woman, perhaps a bit short, and has relatively fair skin with some freckles adorning her skin. Sometimes Jessie’s taste for the eclectic shows up in her wardrobe. Lastly she isn’t known for wearing a lot of makeup but sometimes if she is bored or stressed she puts on some makeup, especially eyeliner.
¤ WAND... 12” -- Unicorn Tail Hair -- Willow
¤ POSITION... Daily Prophet // Reporter
¤ PATRONUS FORM... Rabbit
¤ LIKES...
Typing, music, guitars, taverns, skirts, odd shoes, the color yellow, Marigolds, Suede Lace Up Oxford Pumps, paintings, the countryside, farmhouses, cats, The Pink Spiders, love songs, satire, the warm feel of recently printed papers, exact change, interviews, ice-cream, Scottish accents, and hugs.
¤ DISLIKES...
Paper jams, late meetings, coffee, manicures, pedicures, overly prissy women, teenage drama, emotional arguing, rap, swearing, sad movies, farces, tension, layoffs, funerals, death, foundation, excessive makeup, spiders, gothic makeup, gargoyles, needles, hospitals, and asylums.
¤ FEARS... Failing, being alone, death, death of relatives, funerals, cuts, losing her job, being boring, being trapped on a train with a vampire again, losing what she wants or never being able to achieve the things she strives for.
¤ SPECIAL ABILITIES... She speaks fluent German along with English, moderate Spanish, is double jointed, and plays the guitar.
¤ WEAKNESSES... Jessie is very stubborn. Sure she likes helping people but if she feels like she is being pushed around, taken advantage of, or ignored she gets indignant. She is nice, but she wants to do things her own way. If she has her mind set on something it may never be changed. Also she is opinionated, and though she will listen she sometimes forms arguments in her head while being outwardly complacent. She’s mildly vindictive.
¤ PERSONALITY... Jessie is a sweet woman. She would hate to let anyone that she cares about down, but she is also pretty opinionated. A lot of the time Jessie is able to bite her tongue, even if she’s already formatted her complains into a nice bullet point list in her head, but she readily gives her opinion if she’s asked for it. She tries to be pretty selfless, but no one can ignore their wants forever. Jessie is a very responsible person and passionate about her job. She’s quirky and likes what she likes, and likes to be sarcastic and tease. However she is also emotional. Things don’t hurt her as easily as they used to, and lately she’s somewhat outgoing, but under the right amount of stress she can revert back to being quiet and shy. She focuses most of her attention on her job and her pets, which makes her sound a bit reclusive, but she still managed to go out several nights a week and hang out with her friends when they ask. She enjoys reading poetry, talking, and finding out about the most obscure and interesting journal articles she can.
More than with anyone else she can get frustrated with Perry. With Perry Jessie tries to be the helpful adult. Perry is full of snide remarks, dislike, eye rolling, and general disappearing. Jessie usually keeps her cool and just gets disciplinary and annoyed, but on rare occasion she will snap and need to get out of the apartment. With her friends she likes to tell and hear stories. Listening intently and always being happy to help. There is one person she wants very much to like but finds it difficult because this person has something Jessie wants. However she once decided to check that desire inside and ignore it. Jessie’s stubborn, and tries to get what she wants, but she isn’t going to ruin someone else’s happiness just for a chance at getting what she wants.
¤ FAMILY...
Leo Twight [Father],
¤ PETS...
Four cats, Thisbe, Petra, Evander, and Remy.
¤ HISTORY... Jessie lived a nice quiet little life in a country house with her parents until her mother’s death when she was eight. She witnessed her mother being killed and became quite internalized. She was quiet, shy, emotional, and entirely too fragile. Jessie attended Muggle School when she was nine with her two cousins and was shipped to Hogwarts when she was eleven. At Howarts Jessie was a Hufflepuff and met a very influential Scottish boy. In Jessie’s fifth year she became friends with the sixth year and he became her best friend. Her Uncle Jared was assumed dead and Jessie went into shock, but the boy helped her deal with both her mother’s death and her Uncle’s. Later in the year he got a girlfriend and Jessie and he grew distant. After that summer Jessie discovered her uncle was in fact alive but she was even stronger for having dealt with his death.
After Hogwarts Jessie became a journalist for a local paper while getting an online degree from a Muggle College in America. She’s graduated by the time she was twenty two and started working for as many papers part time as she could. Finally she got a job at the Daily Prophet a few years ago and settled into an apartment. In the last two months one of Jessie’s friend’s passed away and she mourned. However this woman had recently adopted a teenage girl named Persephone, who insisted on going by Perry. Perry happens to be magical unlike her birth parents and adoptive mother and since Jessie was the best friend of her adoptive mother Perry went to Jessie as a foster child. Perry didn’t appreciate this in the least but went along with it because it allowed her to transfer into Hogwarts. Jessie has near constant strife with Perry when the girl is home for breaks but maintains her normal life otherwise.
¤ SAMPLE RP...
“Oh. My. ***! I hate this place.” The sixteen year old girl screamed. Jessie took a deep breath. She’d had enough trouble with Perry the first two weeks and now it was getting worse. A week and a half was spent in hotels clearing out Claudia’s things and handling paperwork. Then Perry and Jessie had flown from middle USA to London England. In another few weeks Perry would be traveling to Hogwarts for the first time and she looked like she couldn’t leave soon enough.
“You have a room, you can stay there if you can’t stand the apartment.” Jessie commented, remaining calm. Perry had been quit the entire flight and drive there. She’d even gone to sleep peacefully her first night, but ever since she woke up that morning she’d complained about everything. England was too cold. England was too loud. England was too British.
“All I have in there is a sleeping couch and computer. What am I supposed to do? Surf the web? I want to go OUT.” She exclaimed, her dark tank top, punk jacket, and tight jeans said as much. She was currently sleeping in Jessie’s work room and Jessie was less than pleased about having to turn it into a teenager’s bedroom but she was willing to make due.
“Look. It’s eight and you don’t know anyone. I am staying in tonight. Maybe tomorrow I can take you out exploring. But you have to wait.” Jessie continued to be reasonable. Perry apparently loathed cats and so Jessie had been forced to lock all of her cats in her bedroom since Perry arrived. They weren’t happy either. In the next few days Jessie had to buy a bed and move all of her work furniture either into the front room or her bedroom.
“I don’t want to go out with you. You’re old. And So boring.” Perry complained, hands set on her hips, “At least Claudia let me go out when I pleased.”
“Maybe she did,” Jessie began, her voice becoming noticeably more irritated, “But you lived in a small town near the country. So things are different here. And besides, I am not Claudia.”
“But before I lived with her! ***!” She swore again, “Before I went to live with her, which, remember, was only like a year… I lived in a city. And I got to go out!”
Jessie had no way of knowing if Perry was being honest or not. She wouldn’t have been surprised either way. From what she could tell after Perry’s mother passed away about six years earlier her father hadn’t been the most responsible man around. Claudia hadn’t talked too much about it, and Perry definitely didn’t divulge that information. At least Perry listened, she wasn’t happy about it, but she did obey when commanded. When she started cursing more at Jessie the older woman groaned and got up, grabbing her bag and walking to the door.
“I will be home later. I need some air.” She said under her breath.
“See!? You are going out! This is So UNFAIR!” Perry screamed as Jessie closed the door.
